This past weekend saw the annual BirdLife SA SASOL bird fair take place, for the first time, at the magnificent Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort just outside Johannesburg. Previously the bird fair was always held at the Johannsburg Zoo. With a wide variety of exhibitors ranging from conservation organisations, bird clubs, optics, books and electronics, bird feeders, bird food etc visitors were given the ideal opportunity to find that special something to satisify their birding interests.

For parents wanting to attend Talks, Lectures and Guided Bird Walks etc it was all made a lot easier because of the ample entertainment that was laid on for young kids. BirdLife SA, and their sponsors, are to be congratulated for once again organising a fantastic bird fair and for truly giving conservation wings.
