Today Soweto is a thriving hub of activity, with a wonderful vibe to it ,where its citizens can experience one of the world’s best Virgin Active gyms in a massive modern state of the art shopping mall, to bungy jumping from the towers of an old power station. People love to visit and stroll along the famous Vilakazi street , which is the only street in the world where two Nobel Peace Prize winners once lived ( The humble homes of Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu can be seen there ).
Guests on the Rare Finch Conservation Group EcoTour to South Africa and Uganda in 2012 will have the opportunity to visit Soweto, and with a bit of luck may even see a couple of interesting finches along the various river banks.
